Artist Statement

Grey Painting is the working title for a number of "grey" series that are intended to heighten the fuzzy territory of the dissemination of information. The series Anna Leonowens Grey re-directs various representations of this historical figure, from within painting, Hollywood movies, and ultimately the gallery itself, to a format of grey paintings. The loss of factual and fictional information to a grey image image elevates the subject of myth.
